Dynamic Portal Text Effect - After Effects tutorial
That's right, it's a cheesy portal in space. With some small tricks, we can turn a 2d effect into a 3d effect.

EXPRESSIONS:
Applies an continuous animation to the first dimension in a property with multiple dimensions E.g. Scale, position, etc:
[time*100,0]
The "toComp([0,0,0])" expression converts the layer coordinates, into composition coordinates. That way we can convert 3D coordinates, to 2D coordinates, for example. very useful for fake volumetric effects, flares, UI, etc.
