Cool Northern Lights - After Effects vfx tutorial
Using a simple setup and some expressions, we can create dynamic northern lights, or aurora borealis, that dance across the sky.

EXPRESSIONS:
This expression multiplies the index of the layer its applied to, with the Slider effect "Hue Amount"
on the layer "CTRL" in the composition "AuroraLights_v01". It can be useful if you want values to change a per layer in the composition.
(index*comp("AuroraLights_v01").layer("CTRL").effect("Hue Amount")(1))
This expression also uses the index of the layer, to move the layer in the Z axis, while adding its original value to it. This way we can still modify the position of the layer and have an offset applied on top.
