Pacific Crest Trail: Built by Hands
The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) spans 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada covering over dozens of national forests from California, Oregon, and Washington. Due to increased popularity over the last several years, trail segments have degrade dover the years and the backlog of deferred maintenance has led to detours, reroutes, and closures in some areas. Thanks to funding provided by the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) Legacy Restoration Fund, this project will cover the entire PCT over the next four years, utilizing $4.2 million for California sections and $2.6 million for Oregon and Washington sections, respectively. The types of work involved in this project include trailhead maintenance, hazard removal, drainage improvement, and signage replacement.
