Push the sinner’s prayer?
I'm interested in your experience and feedback in the comments on this one. I've experienced those who teach evangelism by emphasizing that you must push people to pray with you, on the spot, to "close the deal" (a strangely crude term for such a lofty thing as salvation). I don't agree because I don't see that in Scripture and it seems counterintuitive when witnessing, to encourage people to pray in some empty fashion which they may not mean. So I have no rule. I respond to what happens in the moment. Perhaps I leave them unresolved, with the guilt of sin and the promise of the gospel weighing on their minds. What about you?
