How to transfer your old Windows computer license in your new PC | Hindi
Welcome to Gauri Dutt | Tech Insights (formerly iTech Best Practices)! Do you have an old PC you want to sell or dispose. Before you sell or dispose of your computer, you would probably back up your data and then format the drives but also want to use your Windows license on your new PC ? So, Here is the steps to follow.
1. Open Command Prompt as an Administrator.
2. Enter cscript slmgr.vbs /dlv "angle bracket" c:\dlv.txt.
3. Open the test file dlv.txt
4. Find the Activataion ID and copy it.
5. Again go back to your command prompt and type slmgr.vbs /upk "activation id" and then press enter. This will uninstall the current product key from Windows and put it into an unlicensed state.
6. Enter slmgr /cpky and wait for this to complete. This will remove your product key from registry.
Once you have done this, you could sell or dispose off the laptop and use the Windows Product Key somewhere else.
