Piotr Markielau explained why he performed the action with an axe at IKEA and outlined the basic principles of the Legalize Belarus strategy.
Earlier, on November 18, Piotr was detained for pouring paint over and slashing several nightstands at IKEA with an axe, after making sure that there were no children in the room, and limiting the space of the action with a tape. Shortly before that, it became known that the brand uses the labor of Belarusian political prisoners to create its products. “They must understand that if they use slave labor, all sorts of psychos will come to their store and scare their customers; human rights should not be violated, because there will be a reaction,” Markielau said in an interview with Belsat.
