In this video we compare the concept of AI Rampancy as it appears in the Halo franchise to how it originally appeared in the Marathon video game franchise developed by Bungie. This also explores and references a bunch of obscure lore about rampancy in Halo AIs that most people don't cover.
In this video we do a deep dive to answer the question; how similar are the depictions of rampancy between Halo and the Marathon trilogy? And are they reconcilable? This video is a response to various claims about how the two franchises depictions of Rampancy are supposedly irreconcilable.
This is an important subset of the debate over whether or not Halo and Marathon are connected, or at least that some Bungie employees who had a lot of influence over Halos story intended for them to take place in the same universe or for them to be connected at one point of time.
In this video we explore lore from disparate sources including Human Weakness, Halo 3, Halo Reach Contact Harvest and the original Marathon trilogy. Especially the first Marathon game and Marathon Infinity. I've been a follower of the many similarities and connections between the two franchises for some time.
