How Does Affirmative Action Impact College Admissions? - Affirmative Action Explained
Affirmative Action has long been an arena for debate about the place of race in determining college admissions and workplace hiring, and it is soon likely to be overturned by the Supreme Court. In this video, I try to approach this topic by examining the benefits and drawbacks of affirmative action, in addition to analyzing the prevailing trends and historical context that reinforces the need for affirmative action in the realm of higher education and hiring.
Through this video, we'll look at how admissions have historically been different for racial groups, examine why we see educational and socioeconomic disparities between different groups, and create potential solutions towards better college admissions for all.
