NAFDAC recently shut down 11,000 shops dealing in illicit drugs across Nigeria, justifying its actions as necessary to protect public health.

But not everyone agrees. Some claim the agency is unfairly targeting businesses. This formed a conversation on Nigeria Info’s Hard Facts where Sam asked the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (Rivers State), Pharmacist Anele Promise, some pertinent questions:

💊 Is the sale of medicine by untrained persons dangerous?
💊 Can the apprenticeship model be used to learn how to sell medicine? (His answer? A firm NO! 🚫).

Pharmacist Anele also shared a shocking story about a ‘chemist man’ called Drink-it-all. 😳

What do you think? Should only licensed professionals handle medicine, or is there room for informal training? Drop your thoughts in the comments! ⬇️
