This ship felt pretty bad to me for a while. The laser is great, and in the first few stages it performs incredibly well, but I was really struggling with slow movement speed in some particular areas - most notably during cutbacks or certain patterns. The Stage 3 midboss opening pattern was a real challenge for my consistency.
This run was a bit of a surprise. The whole second half has some really unexpected mistakes, and Stage 5 in particular was rough. When I started the Stage 5 boss with no life stock, I was really scared - this boss normally gives me a fair amount of trouble, and I normally like to have a lot of resources for it. But I was able to clear it with just one life and a few bombs. The very last bomb in the run was probably unnecessary, but I really, really didn't want to take chances at that point. This fight actually helped improve my confidence against this boss by quite a lot!
This was played on a recently acquired Xbox 360, so there are no longer any concerns with Xenia emulation accuracy or audio looping.
