I wrote this song a while ago. It was inspired by conversations with my friend Henry, who like me is prone to extravagant thoughts.*
Extravagant Thoughts
Little bird, flying past my window
Fly to my love
And when he wakes, sing your song like an echo
Tell him
I think of him a lot
And I am often caught
In my extravagant thoughts for you
Little cloud, floating past my window
Float to my love
And make a shape, like my face on his pillow
Show him
I think of him a lot
And I am often caught
In my extravagant thoughts for you
'Cause I would spell out your name with stars in the skies
Paint your gray skies blue with the colour in my eyes
Send you Morse Code notes through the fireflies
And have the moon tell you I love you before every sunrise
Little breeze, blowing through my window
Blow to my love
And bring this kiss to his lips so that he'll know
I think of him a lot
And I am often caught
In these extravagant thoughts
I think of him a lot
And I am often caught
In my extravagant thoughts for you
*It's not about him, just inspired, in part, by him.
He's also left-handed, so that's my excuse for the accidental lefty video. :)
