Formula B Over Boost review
If features 9v power with internal voltage doubler, so it provides the same headroom of the original circuit.
It's not strictly necessary, any 9v version of this pedal is still great and you will be able to use it as booster nevertheless, but still, authenticity is a good factor.
Like many other clones, this pedal has a "master volume", to help you keep a "humane" output level even with the gain maxed out.
It has the classic treble and bass controls, which can boost (over 12 o'clock) or cut (below 12 o'clock) their respective frequencies.
I prepared very simple samples using the Over Boost as main drive and a final comparison with/without the Over Boost placed AFTER a Electro-Harmonix Ram's Head Big Muff reissue.
About this last one you should notice more clarity and more focus in the second sample, it's quite subtle, but the character of the muff is definitely enhanced by the Boost.
