This is Part 2 of Markets to Explore in Vietnam. While this trip was my 2nd time in Vietnam, I have tried and tested all the markets everywhere. And honestly I prefer some more than others.

🌼 Ho Chi Minh has Ben Thanh Market, but honestly its way too exploited due to tourism, but the gem is hidden in plain sight.

Just across the Ben Thanh Market there is Saigon Square Market which sells better quality and more korean and western style clothing, its also better priced. Needless to say be ready to bargain for the better price.

🌼 The New Playground market is small and has limited stuff of some Local Vietnamese designers. Make sure to check all the stores before buying. Also the clothes are final priced and no Bargaining is entertained.

🌼 Phu Quoc had one good Market which sells nice pearl Accessories and other basic clothing items, I personally felt this market is more better for Non Vegetarians as it feels more focused on Food. But still its worth a visit :)

🌼 Hoi An has some beautiful stuff to offer, if you’re leather lover like me, you will love Hoi An. Needless to say Hoi An Night market is worth a shot to buy good silk scarfs, books, ceramics or lamps. They are affordable and we need to support the locals who had a really hard time during Covid when the city which is reliable on Tourism was completely shut down for two years.

TIPS

👉🏾 reach little early, the locals call it Happy Hour Time, where you can get the items in fair price.

👉🏾 the shopkeepers can get aggressive, i feel its mainly because of Covid and they suffered huge loss, be polite and leave.

👉🏾 Make sure to carry cash, they do accept USD, and some shops were also accepting INR.

👉🏾 you can also custom make your own leather bags and shoes, so give it a shot and be very specific!:)
