Visiting the Site of the Deadliest Single Plane Crash in History: Japan Airlines Flight 123
In early May, I visited Mount Osutaka-no-One, the crash site of Japan Airlines flight JAL123, the deadliest single aircraft accident in history, and where popular Japanese singer Kyu Sakamoto lost his life, along with 519 others. This year (2023) is the 38th anniversary of the August 12, 1985 crash.
Come along as I visit each marker, reflect on the lives lost, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area, despite the memory of the tragedy that occurred here.
