2 Nights in Aokihagara!: Yuru Camping with Ronin Dave at Camp Akaike...and elsewhere
Come join Ronin Dave and I as we head to Aokigahara to explore the Motosu Castle ruins and get a bit lost in the process, get locked inside the Saiko Bat Cave, have a fireside chat at Camp Akaike, then do some deep woods camping and exploration on our second night.

The translation of the Motosu Castle sign @16:38 is very much a work in progress...but in the meantime, here is a rough outline:
"Castle Mountain
Higher than Eboshi-dake[1], the ruins of Motosu Castle overhangs Aokigahara Jukai at a height of 1056 meters, has several roof cuts [?? 2] that were placed on the narrow, thin and long peak, and the shape of a fortified medieval mountain castle that uses the natural terrain and had a hut, remains.
(Currently translating the rest...stay tuned)
[1]: Several places are called 'Eboshi-dake'
[2]: Not sure what this means...my best/logical guess is that they cut down some trees/vegetation as needed to get a clear view of the surrounding area. There were also at least one spot that was a 2 meter wide notch that was cut perpendicular to the peak of the ridgeline, like this: ---| |---
...which a sign called a "moat", so the "roof cuts" could be in reference to this, instead of meaning to clear away the tree "roof" for an unobstructed view.
