When in pursuit of the "black death" that is the cape buffalo, anything can happen...and often it does. However, most days start the same way, with a pre-dawn survey of waterholes, looking for tracks of a herd or dagga boys that visited during the night. When a likely track is located, the pursuit begins, following the spoor to hopefully, catch up with the herd before it reaches its' morning bedding area. When buffalo are encountered, that is where the excitement begins.
Several encounters with a large herd ultimately lead to a now-or-never shot opportunity. This video could serve as a primer on hunting nyati. It is a classic spot and stalk for cape buffalo with Balla Balla Safaris in Zambia.
