10 Tips On Growing Tomatoes From Seed - Growing Tomatoes In Arizona
In today's video I will give you my 10 tips on growing tomatoes from seed. I apply this 10 things within the first 10 days of starting my tomato seeds.
To assure a successful tomato seed germination, I soak the tomato seeds in a wet paper towel for a few hours.
I always moisten the seed starting mix prior to planting the seeds so I don't have to water them right a way.
I plant the tomato seeds in small cups because I will up plant them. This way I don't waste soil.
I bottom water my tomato seeds by filling a try with water and letting the soil absorb the needed amount of water.
I make sure the tomato seedlings get enough light so they don't get tall and leggy.
I up plant the tomato seedlings into larger cups after germination.
Prior to up planting the tomato seedlings, I water them truly so I don't damage the roots during transplanting.
When transplanting the tomato seedlings, I am careful not to touch the stem of the plant and just handle them for the leaves.
When planting the tomato seedlings into larger cups, I bury the stem all the way to the leaves because the tomato plant will grow new roots from it.
I water the tomato seedlings with fish fertilizer deluded in water every other watering.
