In the Electronic Invoice (NF-e), there are fields for filling in the carrier's data: Name or Company Name, CPF or CNPJ, State Registration, Address, and vehicle license plate.
Informing the carrier on the invoice allows them to also access the complete NF-e data. This makes the process of issuing transport documents much faster, as it allows the CT-e to be issued using the NF-e access key, and eliminates the need for manual document completion, which also minimizes the chances of errors in issuance.
However, despite the benefits, the invoice issuer does not always include the carrier on the NF-e.
