Lay My Body Down at Caffe Sole in March 2017 was one of my favorite performances of the song and probably one of the funnest I have ever performed. I think of myself as a soft rock, cross-genre performer. But for the first with a band, I performed this and really felt moved by the rhythm of the piece. Lay My Body Down from Live and Guardians of Truth albums is one of the most important in my repertoire because of the emotionality of the theme. It's often the song that audiences either walk out on and skip on the album or one that they really love particularly in live performance. What I love about live performances is that as an artist, I can practice all I want, but I don't really know what is going to happen. In the case of Lay My Body Down at Caffe Sole, my band and I just really found a groove. It was 3-4 songs deep into the program that night and really took the energy of the evening up a few notches and I think helped the whole evening find its pace. The audience really responded at the end with hoots and haulers and a long applause. At the end of the evening, fans were saying that Lay My Body Down was their favorite of the night and they really got to see us and the evening of song come to life.
