BIM360 Design Collaboration for Civil 3D Getting Started 04 Dref Creation and Usage
Learn how Dref (Data Shortcuts) are Created and Used. Set the working folder to the BIM360 Project. Surfaces, Alignments/Profiles, Corridors, Pipe Networks, Pressure Networks. Once published the Dref will be accessible to all the team members. Create multiple references at the same time.
Does not talk about the actual process to update a Dref when a file is open. Needs to be Manually synced and can take up to a few minutes before the changes can be picked up, they are not instantaneous like when working from a standard desktop or server. There is no notification balloon on the lower right like the standard Civil 3D Dref Synchronize.
Also be aware that if your file has an MMS file associated to your extra large Civil 3D surface this must be copied down to your desktop every time you open the file. It will automatically create a new one when you save the file back to BIM360.
