HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE? ENCOURAGE YOUR CLIENTS TO GET TESTED
Your barbershop is a safe place to talk — about current events, relationships, sex, and health care.
Talk with your clients about getting tested for HIV.
Anyone having sex without a condom should be tested for HIV at least once, and people who have ongoing exposure to HIV should be tested more frequently.
Testing leads to earlier diagnosis and better health outcomes if you test positive.

HIV PREVENTION & TREATMENT
Some of your clients may benefit from PrEP.
PrEP is “pre-exposure prophylaxis” – it’s medicine that protects people from getting HIV via sexual exposure by 99% when taken every day.
Most insurance plans and state Medicaid programs cover the cost of PrEP.
If someone tests positive, starting treatment early can keep them healthy.
It's easy. Most people can take one pill a day - or two shots every other month.
