Google BigQuery: First Steps in R
This hands-on workshop guides participants through utilizing the free tier of Google Cloud Platform to analyze large public datasets using BigQuery, Google’s cloud data warehousing solution. The session includes a brief overview of cloud solutions and their significance in medicine, step-by-step instructions on signing up for free services, and practical exercises in SQL queries within BigQuery. Participants will also learn how to integrate R with BigQuery. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have initiated a data analysis project, established a Google Cloud account for ongoing learning, and developed confidence in SQL, cloud computing, and system interoperability.
