Politician says women are ‘weaker, less intelligent’
Polish politician Janusz Korwin-Mikke launches sexist tirade against women. Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus, from the Modern Party, accused him of offending women and said she would not allow him to do it again.
"There are more women than men in Poland, we're better educated, and I will not let you offend Polish women, European women and women all over the world," she told him.
"It's a disgrace."
Also fellow MEP Iratxe Garcia Perez from Spain, who visibly grimaced during Korwin-Mikke’s speech, shot back at his diatribe with blistering remarks.
"Look, according to your theory, I should not have the right to be here, as a member of this Parliament. And I know it hurts you, I know it hurts and worries you, that today women can sit in this house and represent European citizens with the same rights as you.
"I am here to defend all European women from men like you."
Korwin-Mikke has a history of getting attention for outrageous comments, including comparing the European Union to the Third Reich.
