These are some of my favorite practices for guilt resiliency. In order to become resilient to guilt, we must learn to stop over-empathizing with others’ emotional experience start empathizing with our OWN emotional experience.
This involves being present with our bodies; acknowledging the pain of having our needs gone unmet for so long; and celebrating the newfound ease, time, spaciousness, calm, or self-respect we feel now that we’ve protected ourselves properly.
