Ten of Denver’s most talented bartenders are competing to create the most visually stunning garnish—and you can get in on the action! Try each of their cocktails at participating restaurants and bars leading up to the event, then cast your vote to advance six bartenders to the live finale. In this video, bartender Harvest Pelletier from Poka Lola Social Club in Denver shows us how to create a fresh and garden-inspired cocktail called Sorry, I’m a Vegeterarium. This cocktail brings the garden to your glass, infusing it with natural, vibrant flavors and a creative presentation that highlights the connection between garden-grown ingredients and mixology.
To make this cocktail, you’ll need:
• 1.75 oz Apple Infused Tanqueray Gin
• 0.5 oz Lemon
• 0.5 oz Black Pepper Celery Simple Syrup
• 0.25 oz Falernum
• 0.25 oz Genepy
• 0.25 oz Grapefruit
Garnish: The Veggies and Succulent Atrium creates a distinctive Vegetarium that showcases the cocktail’s flavors through visible elements.
Inspiration: Harvest was inspired by a coworker who started making videos about using garden veggies in cocktails. Enthralled by the idea, Harvest decided to bring this concept to Garnish Games, using several veggies from her coworker’s garden in the cocktail. Additionally, succulents hold a special place in Harvest’s heart, as they are the only plants she can keep alive, adding a personal touch to the garnish.
The 6th Annual Garnish Games is a bartending competition in Denver presented by DiningOut Magazine and Diageo Brand Spirits, culminating with a live finale on August 4th, 2024, at Meow Wolf Convergence Station.
