Commodore 1541 Disk Drive Repair - Bringing it Back to Life
In this video I repair the first Commodore 1541 disk drive I have touched in about 30 years. It had multiple issues and I made a few mistakes along the way, but it all was good in the end.

This was the first 1541 I have touched in about 30 years and it shows a bit. I made a few mistakes, mainly because I was using different test equipment than I used back in the day. I thought it would be better to include the rough edges rather than to gloss them over. Finally, I was able to test it with some disks that had been in storage for several decades. At the end I show a sneak peek of a game I was working on in the 80s’. It’s an RPG inspired by Ultima and Telengard written in machine language.
