Budding Roses by Zeroniumm + more | Geometry Dash
First of all, I'm uploading this completion out of order but expect the rest of my recent (last 4 months lol) completions soon. Anyways here's my thoughts on the level:
I didn't have the best time with this level, I think I had a total of 6 or 7 deaths past 70% and generally I was getting pretty annoyed at a lot of the deaths I got. Despite that I feel that I've somehow completely disconnected my experince while playing the level and my enjoyment of the level. It's hard to explain but I think I was almost entirely upset with myself for playing poorly (like getting 91%x2) rather than being upset at the level. This level's gameplay is extremely fair and every death felt like it was my fault, but I think that also meant every death made me feel like I sucked at the game since the level is also really consistent.
As for the level's balancing, I personally found it to be a decent bit first-half heavy mostly due to 71-100 being extremely consistent (I did die there quite a few times but all my deaths felt like really stupid, easily avoidable mistakes). I did struggle extremely badly with the 36% ship for one particular session (0/12 pass rate at one point) but the next day it was totally fine so I'm not sure I'd call it a chokepoint.
As a random side note, I think this completion shows how much I've improved at the game in the last year or so as around 15 months ago I beat Crystal as a second hardest which took me 9.5k attempts, this level which has similar gameplay, albeit much slower, took only 2.6k attempts.
Overall I think this is a really good level that I had a kind of weird experience with and have somehow have been able to set that experience aside when it comes to my enjoyment of the level.
