Memories of Penang by Jimmy Fong
Dear YouTube viewers,
I have created a Multimedia show entitled Memories of Penang based on
the lyrics and music by Jimmy Fong, a Penang boy.
We are so proud of this Penang boy who can sing so well.
The video has aerial views of the stunning beauty of Penang island of 4K quality taken by a drone mounted with high resolution camera. All the various scenic tourist spots of the island are in this show.
Growing up in Penang in the 1960s then migrating to Australia in the
early 80s, Jimmy spent many a day learning the strings of his acoustic guitar.
As a child he listened to local tunes with one ear, while tuning the other
to Western influences like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan,
John Denver, and Elvis.
In 2011, he graced Malaysian television performing his original song –
December Skies – with a 50-piece live orchestra, for which he was
selected a finalist in the National Malaysian Songwriting competition.
