KINESIOLOGY TAPE FOR LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
The taping technique consists of applying an elastic bandage to the skin to stimulate the muscles and lymphatic and blood flow. When combined with manual lymphatic drainage treatment, its physiological effects include the removal of lymphatic fluid congestion that may reappear after the application of the techniques.
Studies show that the elastic bandage, especially when applied in the way we call "spider web," "octopus," or "fan," can act as channels that direct the fluid in the interstitium, causing edema, to the nearest lymphatic collector. In this way, local edema is reduced, enhancing manual lymphatic drainage and improving lymphatic return for days in that area.
