I ship this as a proper pairing now. For a long time I was unable to ship it as anything but one-sided, but chapter 244 had enough emotional investment on Judal's side to make me change my mind. In fact, chapter 244 just had plenty of stuff in the way of this pairing in general.
...Well, okay, I don't completely think of this pairing as a happy one. I mean, as seen in ch. 242, Judal has some doubts about Hakuryuu being a truly capable king since almost no-one is following him of their own volition. But that's fine, I'm okay with that, it's inevitable. I'd be more upset if Judal DIDN'T notice that aspect of Hakuryuu's actions.
Also, yay for Hakuryuu finally using a speech style that suits his personality! And for finally being more likeable.
