Detecting Masked Faces using Convolutional Neural Network
At the end of 2019, the novel coronavirus disease 2019 pneumonia (COVID-19) occurred in the city of Wuhan, China, and it spread over the world within a month. The major precaution to protect from coronavirus are home isolation, social distancing, hand washing, cover mouth with a mask. The mask is made compulsory by most of the country. But detection of without mask people in the scene is one of the crucial tasks, and it is challenging to recognize when there are several people to analyze. Hence, in this approach, the CNN based masked face recognition system is implemented. The system consist of the self-generated dataset contains 20000 images of 40 people were considered for training, and it is tested over the 5000 different faces. The proposed system achieved an accuracy of 100%.
