Catholic University of America elevates nursing education
The nursing profession is facing a global crisis with around 30-35% of nurses considering quitting within their first year due to the demands of the job. Nurse educators and practice experts recognize a gap between pre-licensure and advanced practice registered nurse students' academic preparation and readiness as they transition to the clinical arena.
The Catholic University of America wanted to address the nursing crisis with an innovative, virtual hospital–an environment powered by augmented and virtual reality. The university partnered with TCS to develop this virtual hospital and enhance the quality of learning experiences for nursing students and differentiate itself from other universities in the United States.
