"Enlightenment" from the album Duets (Bob Dylan & Van Morrison)
"Enlightenment" song written by Van Morrison and included on his 1990 album Enlightenment.
Biographer Brian Hinton comments "'Enlightenment' is actually the opposite of what it sounds: it is full of doubt, not affirmation. 'I'm meditating and still I'm suffering.' He seems to be saying everything is a state of mind, you can choose to live in heaven or hell.
Hinton, Brian (1997). Celtic Crossroads: The Art of Van Morrison,
I asked Bob Dylan if he felt a special connection to Van Morrison and Dylan said: Oh yeah!
Even since Them, really there’s been nothing Van’s done, that hasn’t knocked me out”
I think Dylan's great. He's got it, he's an originator, and there's only one of 'em--one in every generation.
