Second monitor is grayed out and its settings are not accessible (Windows 11 Fix)

This is what worked for me hopefully it will help you as well, in general I have tried to connect a direct display port to one monitor, and an HDMI port to another monitor, and the second monitor wasn't identifying correctly, the trick was fairly simple in my case, use the Windows 11 shortcuts (win+p) to extend the desktop to the second monitor, once you do that the settings will reset and you can see the other monitor and access its settings.
that's the only thing that worked for me after trying to reinstall drivers etc. eventually what did is it was just a simple shortcut to extend the monitor that that was all that was necessary for me.
