This colony of honey bees filled a cavity in a wall. There are 5 combs that are almost 90cm long, The swarm arrived only a month ago and there was 5-6kg honey. The colony was hived and re-sited.

The bees created the comb at 45 degrees to the cavity width which was only about 3 inches in depth so that the combs were 5-6 inches in depth.

The comb was attached to the inner plywood and luckily not to the outer plywood. When the outer plywood was removed the comb remained intact. The reason the bees didn't attach the comb to the outer plywood was probably because it was damp and starting to rot.
