Treating bees for Varroa with oxalic acid
This method means that the bees are treated from beneath the hive without opening up the hive in mid winter.
This is a cheap and simple way to create the oxalic acid vapour.
Two pieces of 10mm copper pipe were soldered to a copper plate with the ends turned up to create a water tight tray.
Into one copper pipe is pushed a diesel car glow plug. Into the other copper pipe is put a threaded bar to make a handle.
The glow plug is connected to the positive of a car battery the threaded bar connected to the negative terminal of the battery.
