To everyone at the Grand Blanc Farmers Market - THANK YOU!
I haven't had a weekly gig to look forward to since I first found out I had cancer 12.5 years ago. Until, with the passing of my mother and moving to Grand Blanc 5 years ago I NEVER EVER expected that this could POSSIBLY happen again in my life.
You have to understand that going backwards from the cancer moment I had my own Improv Group: Sketchy People and we did weekly shows in East Lansing. Before that was Mixed Vegetables Improv Comedy and we performed every week for most of the year at Connxtions Comedy Club in Lansing. In Lansing I also worked with the Lansing Lugnuts minor league baseball team and their mascot Big Lug.
Jumping way back to New Orleans I had a weekly taping of my TV segments that ran between cartoons and this takes us back to 1981.
In the beginning from 1975-80 I was in the United Stage and we did school performances on a regular schedule in Grand Rapids and even went to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and Chicago and Los Angeles.
That long list of the excitement and energy of having something to promote when you speak to people, and inviting them to come and join in, is a gift you have returned to me and I supremely appreciate it. I promise I'm going to give the market my best energy and promote the hell out of it and you with these videos I make for you for our YouTube Channel, the Grand Blanc Farmers Market.
Thank you for this opportunity. I'm not sure my words adequately convey the importance of this for me. Just know it is so.

BTWFYI - Today I have been cancer-free for 3 or 4 years now. I blessedly can't really remember because I don't want to. I'd rather look forward and anticipate seeing you at the Grand Blanc Farmers Market some Sunday between today and October 26th.
