Around 8 p.m. on September 1st, the Taipei District Court held a detention hearing, during which both Ko Wen-je and Peng Zhen-sheng were questioned for approximately 4.5 hours. The presiding judge determined that the evidence presented by the prosecutor was insufficient to establish significant criminal suspicion against Ko Wen-je, and therefore ruled for his release without bail.
