After I had a stroke my hand stayed closed for months. When I began therapy, nine years after my stroke the first piece of advice I got was stretch your fingers. Wearing a brace at night was helpful but one of the best things you can do is stretch your fingers.
These tips are especially helpful if you have not incorporated your affected hand much in a while. This was me and now my hand and fingers are very pliable.
Give these a try and let me know if they help. And, if you have any tips to share leave a comment below!
