Satanic Indonesia, Asmodeus, the Instigator of Lust and Prince of Vengeance
Asmodeus is known by various pronunciations and spellings, including the Greek Asmodaios, the Jewish Asmeday, and other names. In the Jewish tradition, aēšma means "wrath," and daēva means "demon." In Zoroastrianism and Middle Persian demonology, there is a compound form khashm -dev, where the word dev is the same as daeva, which was acculturated in Indian culture to Deva, and we recognize it as dewa, meaning lord or God, a supernatural entity.
