Faster Rendering | v013 Distributed Rendering addon for Blender
Wahey! v013 has been released. Here's a short video about the new stuff. This video isn't meant to be an exhaustive guide on how to use the addon with blender, but rather shows the new features that v013 brings that get you one step closer to having a professional render farm in your very own bedroom... just add computers (:D
The current addon essentially lets you do distribute a blender render on multiple computers and then combines the results of each computer into one final image. This is much faster than rendering one just one computer. This is the basics of render farms, divide the task up amongst many computers to go faster.
We're giving this software to the blender community for free so that if you already have your own hardware, you can build a free render farm using blender and our addon.
