Martin Herrick, a hunter turned soldier is becoming tired of what has now become his ordinary life. He wishes for the horizon to expand and expand it has to encompass the lands of Normandy and France and soon he will return home to unexpectedly find turmoil and chaos. A Welsh rebellion gives the English crown pause and a bloody battle decides the fate of the border barons.
