In Part 2, I tackle the most complicated pieces in the Corvair. The seat braces. The march of time was not too kind to the floor in this old wagon. Even the pieces that tend to rust less were mostly rotten in this car.
The seat braces have a lot of shapes and contours that will be difficult to replicate. They also have to be really strong as they not only need to hold up a bench seat that fits three adults, but also provide additional rigidity to the floors transversely.
As such, I will be doing a lot of measuring and cardboard crafting to get these just right. Tune in to see if I can pull it off.
