Now when it comes to training the lats, you don’t actually want to use a large range of motion, but instead a very small one. And one of my favorite exercises to do that is a seated single arm chest supported row. With a machine like this, you can create stability with your foot, your opposite arm, and your chest, to make the exercise extremely efficient, while maximizing your force production due to the fixed arm path directly in line with the middle and lower fibers of your lat. As you can see I am not pushing my shoulder forward at the end, but instead stopping right when my arm is fully locked out, and I am not driving my elbow behind my body, but stopping when it reaches the side of my torso. This is the range of motion you want to utilize when training your lats. When you do that, and you train to failure, your lats will grow.

About Me: I started lifting at 17 years old in 2019, the summer before I entered my freshman year of college. I was a mere 120 pounds at 5'8, and my only goal was to gain weight. Since then I've bulked 5 times, reaching my heaviest at 206 pounds, and cut 4 times to a lowest of around 10% bodyfat. In 2025 I plan to compete in my first natural bodubuilding show. Using the knowledge I have acquired and continue to learn, my goal is to help all of you achieve your fitness goals and prove that no matter what stands in your way, hard work and consistency will always prevail!
