Your form should always be your number 1 priority in the gym, and your second should be training to failure. That’s because, when you prioritize your form over intensity, you avoid things like this, where your reps become so sloppy that you’re not even working the muscle you intended. Sure you may have done a few more reps, but what good is that for your biceps when you saw more movement in your lower back than you would’ve in the front row of an ice spice concert. You see, if you just focus on maintaining your technique, then you can guarantee that all of the work you are doing to lift the weight is performed by the target muscle, and not other muscles jumping in to compensate. That way when you do train to failure, it is because your muscle is failing and only because your muscle is failing, not because you ran out of gas halfway through. However I am not saying you should sacrifice your intensity to maintain good form, I am just saying to prioritize your form over your intensity.

About Me: I started lifting at 17 years old in 2019, the summer before I entered my freshman year of college. I was a mere 120 pounds at 5'8, and my only goal was to gain weight. Since then I've bulked 5 times, reaching my heaviest at 206 pounds, and cut 4 times to a lowest of around 10% bodyfat. In 2025 I plan to compete in my first natural bodubuilding show. Using the knowledge I have acquired and continue to learn, my goal is to help all of you achieve your fitness goals and prove that no matter what stands in your way, hard work and consistency will always prevail!
