Kind - A song for my son
Hey everyone. It's been a while. In June, my wife and I welcomed our first child, a beautiful little boy. Making music has understandably taken a back seat since then, but I found a little time to finish this track I've been working on.
I started it about a month before he was born. I wanted to do something more acoustic, and was playing around with the wonderful (and free) "Soft Piano" instrument from Spitfire Audio LABS. As I was putting down the main piano parts, I tried to create something that sounded hopeful and optimistic. It wasn't too long before I realized that I was writing this song for my soon-to-arrive son. I wanted this song to be a testament to him that even during turbulent times, like those in which he arrived, we can be cheerful and continue to look for the good in everything. I hope this song will be able to uplift him, no matter what he might be going through, and I hope it can do the same for you.
Software used includes Spitfire Audio LABS, Arturia Pigments, OTT (on the piano tracks), Ozone Elements 9, and Reaper. Pigments is doing bass, pads, EP, and the two organ sounds. The photo is my own, a nice rainbow sunrise looking over the Virgin River Gorge.
