The CX-8, which debuted in 2018, is Mazda's flagship SUV with three rows of seating. Built on the platform of the CX-9, primarily sold in North America, and the CX-5 mid-size SUV, the CX-8 continued to evolve through annual improvements until its discontinuation in 2023. A wide range of powertrains were available, including a 2.2L inline-4 diesel turbo, a 2.5L inline-4 gasoline engine, and a 2.5L inline-4 gasoline turbo. The value built by the CX-8 will be inherited by the CX-80, scheduled for release in the fall of 2024. Kawachi from Motor Magazine's editorial team reports on a video comparing the interior and exterior of the CX-8 with the new CX-80.
