The round section on the default handlebar (Giant Contact SL D-Fuse, 42 cm) is tiny and I've struggled to attach my Cycliq camera and computer reliably. I've tried different mounts and they either eventually slipped or rattled.
I decided to swap out the handlebar completely.
After a little research I went for the Cinelli Neos (carbon fibre) and changed it for a 40 cm width. This measured true on the handlebar centres and I measured 42.4 cm on the outside of the bare bar. Instructions said no more than 7 Nm to attach the handlebar.
I haven't videoed the entire process as there are many videos on position and process and much is personal choice. I recorded the weights of the new and old bar plus the poor attempt I made on the new bar tape. I've never been that good on that part.
The stem face plate said no more than 6 Nm. I tightened the four bolts to 5.0 Nm (if you trust the scale on the torque wrench). I did use carbon paste.
I tightened the shifters to 4 Nm (no carbon paste).
New bar weight is 192 g.
Old Giant bar weight is 254 g.
