Submarine 707 Task Force Plastic Model Part 2: Revive the dream of automatic floating and sinking...
The Submarine 707 plastic model had a very unusual fate.
It was first released by Imai Kagaku in 1965, but went bankrupt. Bandai Model took over the molds and re-released it in 1970, but it too went out of production and was destined to disappear from this world.
It would have simply disappeared, but over 20 years later, one man revived it.
That passion took shape in the Task Force Submarine 707.
It's a historic, yet small, achievement, and I made this explanatory video to preserve the man's thoughts.
Mizuyon @ Suzuki, who knew the situation at the time, provided me with materials, which I compiled in this video. There were actually still some stories I couldn't include in the video, and the turbulent story was full of surprises. However, due to hearsay, a lack of documentation, and the fact that many people with detailed knowledge of the time have now passed away, I decided not to include them in the video.
Still, I was able to follow the story of how the 707 plastic model was revived, so I decided that was enough.
It may not be of any interest to those who aren't interested, but I wanted to preserve it as a story of realizing a dream.

Mr. Chigusa passed away in 2018, and his name, along with the Task Force, has been lost to time, but thanks to him, I was able to build this plastic model.
In 2013, I released a video on this channel showing the automatic floating and sinking of Submarine 707,
and at that time I explained its operation on the SFYDD website. This time, I have thoroughly explained its mechanism again in Part 1.
Even though I had people around me who could have contacted Mr. Chigusa at the time,
I was also working on other things, and I now realize that the timing was fateful that I didn't do so.
If I had been able to meet and talk with him in person, I think I could have heard even more interesting stories,
but it's a shame that I wasn't able to experience his feelings directly.
Although it's very late, I wanted to at least record this story.
