In celebration of Citizen Science Month, join SSAI Lead Outreach Coordinator, Michael Taylor, as he demos NASA’s Science and Technology Education for Land/Life Assessment (STELLA), a hands-on, classroom-ready spectrometer that brings remote sensing to life.
This spotlight shows how Citizen Science can make Earth science more available through simple field demos, real-time spectra, reflectance measurements, NDVI calculations, and surface temperature observations. It also reflects the spirit of Acts of Science by showing how educators, students, and communities can participate in meaningful data collection and discovery.
Whether described as Community Science, Participatory Science, or Science Communication, STELLA offers an engaging way to connect people with practical tools for observing and understanding the world around them.
